LATISSE® |
Eyelash Growth Solution
It is clinically proven to grow eyelashes, longer, fuller and darker. What is Latisse?LATISSE® Solution was created by Allergan, a pharmaceutical leader with 60 years of eye care expertise. In 2001, Allergan developed a medicated eye drop to treat elevated intraocular pressure. Many patients using this medication also began to grow longer, fuller and darker lashes as a side effect. This led Allergan to study the medication's active ingredient, bimatoprost 0.03 percent, specifically for growing lashes. After a clinical trial, LATISSE® Solution was approved by the FDA in December of 2008. Candidates for LatisseLATISSE® is indicated for treatment of inadequate eyelashes. It works by increasing eyelash length, thickness and darkness. If you are not satisfied with the appearance of your eyelashes, you may be a candidate for Latisse at Des Moines Plastic Surgery. Latisse is not recommended for patients under the age of 16. If you have been diagnosed with glaucoma, elevated intraocular pressure or another medical problem of the eye, you may need to consult with an eye care professional before using Latisse. Latisse FAQThe following are common questions about Latisse in Des Moines. If you are interested in Latisse, or if you have a question that we haven't answered here, please contact us to schedule an appointment. How do you apply Latisse?LATISSE® Solution is specially formulated for aesthetic use. Once every evening, you brush the solution along the lash line, like an eyeliner. The medication works to maintain the growth phase of your eyelashes, making them grow longer, thicker, and darker in several weeks. How does Latisse work? The secret behind LATISSE® eyelash growth is the active ingredient known as bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism its action is unknown, physicians believe that it changes the growth (anagen) phase of your eyelash hair cycle. It does this in two ways: it increases the duration of the growth phase, while increasing the number of hairs that are actively growing. What kind of results can I expect? Results are seen after approximately 4 weeks to 6 weeks, but they are not permanent. Your eyelashes will return to their original state if you discontinue the use of LATISSE® Solution. By 16 weeks, you should be able to appreciate fully enhanced eyelash growth.
