Get to know…Dr. Robbins

Published on September 14, 2015

We know Dr. Robbins on a professional level but what does he do while he isn’t in the OR? Dr. Robbins allows us to get to know him on a personal level. When asked a series of questions, check out what the Doc spills!

Jayme: What services do you perform at Des Moines Plastic Surgery™ and Healthy Skin & Laser Center?

Dr. Robbins: I perform Cosmetic Surgery every day of the week, see new consults and post-surgery patients in between surgery. I am in the operating room Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday where most of the surgeries are performed. On Monday and Thursday is when I perform laser surgery and minimally invasive surgery not requiring the use of the operating room. Between Des Moines Plastic Surgery™ and Healthy Skin & Laser Center we see about 70-100 patients a day so everyone stays busy.

Jayme: What are your credentials?

Dr. Robbins: MD from University of Nebraska. Surgery training from University of Nebraska, Plastic Surgery training at University of Kentucky. Board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, and The American Board of Cosmetic Laser Surgery. The only surgeon in IA and one of only a few in the US certified by all four boards.

Jayme: What is your favorite surgery to perform?

Dr. Robbins: I do not have a favorite surgery necessarily. I enjoy what I do because of the variety of surgery that I perform. Cosmetic Plastic Surgery is all that I do so the variety is extensive and this is the best part of my job.

Jayme: What do you like to do in your free time?

Dr. Robbins: Spend time with my wife and kids. I have 5 children and stay busy with all sorts of activities. I also enjoy traveling, gardening and tending to my yard. I enjoy being outside working and I don’t do much sitting around! I like to stay active and busy. If I wasn’t a plastic surgeon, I would probably be a landscaper or a farmer.

Jayme: What do you think makes DMPS & HSLC stand out from others?

Dr. Robbins: We offer the most comprehensive list of procedures for surgical and nonsurgical cosmetic improvement. We are one of the largest and busiest practices in the US. Allergan Aesthetics has listed us as one of the top 100 busiest and most successful plastic surgery practices in the US! We have great staff of nurses, aestheticians, and support/administrative staff to make this possible.

Individual results may vary.
