High Definition Liposculpture Des Moines

  • VASER Hi Def Liposculpture at Des Moines Plastic Surgery™

VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing is a minimally invasive procedure that precisely and efficiently reduces unwanted body fat. This system uses state-of-the-art ultrasound technology (VASER) which is designed to gently reshape your body. The technique requires that the doctor is specially trained in VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing.

What make the VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing procedure different is its ability to sculpt six pack abs, pecs, lats, obliques (as well as other muscle groups). Innovative VASER technology breaks up fat while preserving important tissues such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue to promote smooth results and rapid healing.

Dr. Robbins offers VASER Hi Def liposculpture and fat transfer in Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Robbins is one of a few surgeons in the Midwest and the first and currently the only surgeon in Des Moines to be trained in the advanced liposuction techniques of VASER Hi Def liposculpture. He was trained at the Advanced Body Sculpting Institute by plastic surgeon Dr. John Millard who pioneered this procedure and was the first plastic surgeon to perform VASER® Hi Def Liposuction in the United States.

  • What is VASER Hi Def Liposculpturing and is it different than traditional liposuction?

Traditional liposuction involves removal of deep fat in the body and is simply a reduction in fat volume. Traditional liposuction does not allow the surgeon to “sculp” the body. Liposculpture is more than just fat removal. Rather, it involves an advanced and artistic way of shaping the body then traditional liposuction. The VASER ultrasound liposuction device is used in the liposculpture procedure as well as removal of subdermal, superficial, and deep fat compartments. Advanced ultrasound energy is used to break down fat in a very precise and efficient manner.

Most surgeons perform traditional liposuction and not liposculpture. Dr. Robbins purchased the VASER liposculpture device for his practice and is properly trained in this advanced liposuction and body contouring technique. He is the only surgeon offering VASER Hi Def and VASER 4D liposculpture in the state of Iowa.

High-definition liposculpture is an advanced liposuction technique that allows Dr. Robbins to improve the visibility of muscles and to sculpt the body. Candidates for High Def liposculpture are healthy, athletic individuals who want to increase the visibility of their muscle detail. In essence, High Def Liposculpture is liposuction for the physically fit. From Dr. Robbins’ perspective, High Def Liposculpture is taking his skills as a surgeon to the next level.

  • What is VASER 4D Liposculpture?

Des Moines Plastic Surgery™, VASER High Def 4D liposculpture involves VASER High Def liposculpture with the addition of fat grafting to augment anatomy. The fat grafting adds an entirely new dimension of sculpting the body. Dr. Robbins incorporates the patient’s own fat (autologous fat transfer (AFT) to fine tune nearly any part of the patients’ body. At Des Moines Plastic Surgery™, Dr. Robbins can enhance the rectus and oblique muscles of the abdomen by using intramuscular and sub-dermal fat grafting. AFT can also be used to add definition to the breasts, shoulders, arms, buttocks and legs.

  • What are the advantages of VASER Hi Def Liposculpture?
    • Enables Dr. Robbins to sculpt your anatomical structure beneath the skin to help create definition.
    • Defines underlying muscles to give you a chiseled, sculpted, more athletic appearance.
    • This is a highly precise technique requiring a high level of skill, training, and a thorough understanding of art, anatomy, and the human body.
    • Best candidates are athletic men and women with good muscle tone and small pockets of exercise resistant fat in addition to great skin tone.
    • This technique can be applied to the arms, abdomen, chest, hips, breasts and legs.
  • Chest Sculpting Procedure

This procedure involves VASER Hi Def 4D liposculpting along the lower and lateral (outer) chest to “define” the chest muscles. Next, fat grafting is performed to the pectoralis muscle (chest muscle) to enhance chest muscle size, shape, projection and definition.

  • Ab Sculpting Procedure

Ab sculpting is the most common VASER HD 4D procedure performed by Dr. Robbins. It involves liposculpting and fat grafting the upper and lower abdominal region and the pelvic crease area resulting in a chiseled “six pack”, sculpted abdominal region.

  • Shoulders & Arms Sculpting Procedure

VASER Hi Def Liposculpture can be performed to the arms and shoulders. Deltoids, biceps and triceps can be sculpted and defined with a combination of VASER liposculpting and fat transfer.

  • VASER Hi Def Breast Sculpting Procedure

The VASER HD technique starts by removing superficial fat from around the breast’s lower and outer border making the breast appear larger with a more defined, smoother and distinctive curve of the female breast with removal of unwanted excess fat that can be apparent under bra straps. The fat that is extracted can then be transferred to your inner chest area to naturally enhance your cleavage and camouflage widely separated breasts.

For more than 30 years, the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS) has been dedicated to excellence in the medical specialty of cosmetic surgery and committed to providing the highest standard of care to our patients.

As the only certifying board that exclusively tests a surgeon’s knowledge and experience in cosmetic surgery, ABCS board certification is reserved for extraordinary surgeons who already possess at least one recognized board certificate, complete a comprehensive AACS certified fellowship training program in cosmetic surgery, and pass rigorous written and oral exams. In reality, many cosmetic or plastic surgeons do not qualify to take the ABCS board exam because of the very strict qualifications they must meet.

Dr. Robbins is Board Certified by the ABCS and has been since 2013.

The American Board of Laser Surgery (ABLS) was founded in 1984 by physicians, physicists and other medical practitioners from various fields who were experienced in the fundamental science and clinical applications of lasers. They shared a concern for the safe and efficacious use of lasers in medicine and surgery. They believed that the increasing complexity and utilization of lasers in treating patients had created a need for the establishment of key standards of knowledge, competence, and experience for those who used lasers in medicine.

Many individual physicians, hospital administrators, chairmen of credentialing committees, and other concerned persons expressed a desire for an organization that would fulfill these needs. In doing so, they recognized that lasers are sophisticated instruments requiring special knowledge and experience for safe and effective use in surgery and other medical procedures.

From the very beginning of the era of lasers in clinical use, iatrogenic, laser-related injuries and deaths were occurring among patients. This was the incentive for the founding of the American Board of Laser Surgery. Today, deaths are rare, but burns, complications and sub-optimal outcomes are still all too common.

The Mission of the ABLS is to educate and credential as many qualified laser and light practitioners as possible to ensure the efficacious and safe outcomes for patients.

Dr. Robbins is certified by the ABLS in Cosmetic Laser Surgery and has been since 2013.

Meeting Dr. David Robbins

This is the customer’s opportunity to ask any and all questions. It is also Dr. Robbins’ opportunity to ask you questions as well. Every conversation should be open and honest because surgery is a big deal and both parties involved want the best outcome with the best experience possible. You should be expected to talk about the following:

What you want to change about your body, and why you want to change it?
How you feel about your body now, and how you would like to feel after plastic surgery?
Your goals: what do you want to look like after surgery, what specific changes would you like to see?
Which procedure(s), if any, can help you achieve your goals?
What results you can expect from each procedure?
What’s involved in the surgery (anesthesia type, incisions, recovery timeframe)?
The risks and possible complications from surgery?
Review your medical history (be open and honest for your safety).

#desmoines #westdesmoines #desmoinesplasticsurgery #iowa

When you are called back to begin your consultation appointment, you will first meet with a patient coordinator, who will review your medical history with you and help you get settled. Your patient coordinator is your liaison between you and the practice. They make sure your questions are addressed quickly as you consider your options before surgery as well as throughout your surgery and recovery process. They also help you with scheduling pre-op appointments, your surgery date, and post-op appointments.

Our front desk receptionist is also able to schedule pre-op appointments, your surgery date, and post-op appointments. The patient coordinator will credential the office and the staff, including Dr. Robbins, so that you have a good understanding of what sets Des Moines Plastic Surgery apart from other local plastic surgery practices.
