JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION: Full-Time Surgery Receptionist

REPORTS TO: Office Manager

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for greeting patients upon arrival and coordinating their visit in an efficient and pleasant manner. Also provides effective communication with patients by telephone, email, and lead management platforms.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. 2+ years of experience in a similar capacity involving direct communication with the public, preferably in a medical or service-oriented setting
  2. High school graduate
  3. Basic computer skills and phone etiquette

  9. Strong sense of teamwork

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Full time Monday-Thursday 8a-5p, Friday 8a-4p
  2. Greets all visitors upon arrival, determines needs, and ensures efficient transfer of care to other staff members, as appropriate.
  3. Confirms patient information on file is accurate and up to date upon check-in.
  4. Serves as primary individual responsible for answering phone calls. These include new patients, scheduling procedures/surgery, cancellations, rescheduling, and reminder calls.
  5. Manage the surgery schedule including scheduling pre- and post-op appointments
  6. Takes payment for all appointments schedules, as applicable
  7. Keeps patients informed of any delays beyond the start of their appointment.
  8. Monitor and follow-up appropriately with all leads in the lead management software.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Order meals for patients and staff events, when appropriate
  2. Keeps work area and front lobby orderly and clean
  3. Be flexible with your schedule to meet the needs of the business
  4. Provides assistance compiling medical records at patients’ request
  5. Prints and distributes providers schedules daily
